The special relation between Turkey and Armenia reveals in the city of Ani. It is on the one hand a symbol for the rivalry of the states, but on the other hand an example for a prospering culture and economic exchange in the area, which nowadays belongs to one of the most remote landscapes in the borderland of Turkey and Armenia.

The name of the dialogue project between civil society representatives from Armenia and Turkey was chosen after this city, which is nowadays situated on the territory of Turkey, in immediate neighbourhod of the Armenian border.

Between the 6th and the 14th century, Ani was known as an important cross point in this hard-fought territory. It was the capital of the then Armenian Empire and a flourishing city with up to 100.000 inhabitants. Today, in spite of the fact, that Ani is a city of ruins, because of its astonishing architecture and cultural importance, it is one of the most important cultural heritages on the territory of Turkey.

Թուրքիայի և Հայաստանի փոխհարաբերությունները լավագույնս բացահայտվում է Անի քաղաքով։ Այն մի կողմից պետությունների մրցակցության խորհրդանիշ է, իսկ մյուս կողմից՝ բարգավաճող մշակույթի և տնտեսական փոխանակման օրինակ, որն այսօր պատկանում է Հայաստանի և Թուրքիայի միջև սահմանի ամենահեռավոր լանդշաֆտներից մեկին։

Հայաստանի և Թուրքիայի քաղաքացիական հասարակության ներկայացուցիչների միջև տեղի ունեցող <<Անի. Երկխոսության>> ծրագրի անվանումը ընտրվել է Անի քաղաքի համար, որն այսօր գտնվում է Թուրքիայի տարածքում՝ հենց Հայաստանի սահմանի հարևանությամբ։

6-14-րդ դարերում Անին հայտնի էր որպես կարևոր խաչմերուկ այս փոթորկուն տարածքում։ Անին այն ժամանակվա Հայոց կայսրության մայրաքաղաքն էր, որն ուներ շուրջ 100.000 բնակչություն։ Այսօր, Անին չնայած ավերակների քաղաք է, սակայն իր հետաքրքիր ճարտարապետության և մշակութային նշանակության շնորհիվ համարվում է կարևորագույն մշակութային ժառանգություններից մեկը Թուրքիայի տարածքում։

Neden Ani Diyalog?

Türkiye ve Ermenistan arasındaki özel ilişki Ani kentinde kendini gösteriyor. Bu ilişki bir yandan iki devlet arasındaki rekabeti simgelerken, diğer yandan da Türkiye ve Ermenistan sınırındaki en uzak yerlerden biri olan bölgede zenginleşen bir kültürel ve ekonomik alışverişin bir örneğini de teşkil ediyor.
Ermenistan ve Türkiye’den gelen sivil toplum temsilcileri arasındaki diyalog projesi adını bu şehirden almaktadır; Ani şehri bugün Ermenistan sınırının hemen yakınında, Türkiye topraklarında yer almaktadır.
